Development Work
UC Berkeley Campus Initiatives
Custom built PHP/jQuery sites for campus events, clubs & societies.
Developer
I was often the sole developer on a number of campus sites supporting current events & life-long institutions on campus.
- Custom PHP sites
- Responsive desktop and mobile friendly
- Cross-browser compatible
- Pixel-accurate design-to-code
Featured here are just four of a number of other campus websites that were built during my time at Cal. Some sites lasted only for a short time (tailgate.berkeley.edu) due to the end of the program, and some are still going today. Since we worked primarily on LAMP stack architecture these sites were custom PHP built with SASS and jQuery.
Since they were not updated very often on a per-year basis and they did not require database access, there was no need for the maintenance required to host and maintain a Drupal site, so we kept it simple by sticking with some basic tech.
I could forsee this may be a common request, so I built a very simple PHP starter framework to set up and link pages together. This way I could focus on getting the design to be pixel-accurate with minimal effort on the tech side. This allowed faster build and deploy times. Updates were a snap. It makes me nostalgic for the simple sites of yesteryear!
